Introduction into CSS3 Grid Layout. Working with grids

Introduction into CSS3 Grid Layout. Working with grids

Preface

CSS3 Grid Layout module is one of the most interesting, to my mind, modules in family of CSS3. Official history of the module as a rough copy of specification counts today a bit less than a year. It should be noted that with a bit different name and some changes in syntax, but with the same essence, it was announced as WD as early as in 2007. Today works on module polishing are going at full speed, there is already a preliminary realization in Internet Explorer 10 and hopefully, the support of new possibilities will also appear in the future versions of other popular browsers.

How to Implement in Code 5 Really Useful Responsive Design Patterns

How to Implement in Code 5 Really Useful Responsive Design Patterns

The time when we will pay far more attention to the responsive markup than we do it now is already not too far off. So I consider that it is necessary to be well prepared in this question when the time comes, or even to have clear idea of what is it and what it is used for.

I would like to say at once that the markup of the responsive patterns requires some different approach, than the markup of statics. We will code a “fixed” pattern and it will work everywhere and under any conditions. However, when implementing it into the responsive pattern we can run into some difficulties such as: block sizes and indentions, fonts and, eventually, the created markup does not allow us to manipulate the blocks in a way it is required by the design pattern. It is necessary to think over all these questions before the creation of responsive markup.

PSD2HTML Review

PSD2HTML Review

Not every designer can quickly create a valid, semantic standard compliant markup, that looks equally good in all popular browsers. Frequently, when designers create magnificent and complex graphic part, they try to complete the coding part on their own. This can take too much time and become a really frustrating experience.

PSD2HTML® is an excellent solution for designers who want to get a high quality PSD to HTML conversion and CMS implementation in short turnaround time. They accept source files in all common formats, such as PSD, PNG, TIFF and AI. Stop-watch on CSS3 Without Any Pictures or Scripts

Stop-watch on CSS3 Without Any Pictures or Scripts

Introduction

Firstly, I would like to say a few words about browsers. This code works on such modern browsers as: FireFox, Safari and Chrome. On approach such browsers as IE10 and super secret new Opera.

Secondly, I want to notice at once that I will describe exactly the process of animation, but not drawing on CSS3. For the future I have a different plan, it is to do very beautiful picture, on CSS. Oh yes, it became not so boring, since the developers from safari gave up the old standard of linear – gradient (good bye, color – stop, from, to, 0 0) and Opera at last began to support radial – gradient (the last thing happened relatively a long ago).

At first I thought of creating a simple stop-watch, with pointers only, but it is very boring.

You don’t get any drive and a feeling of mechanism, when you see two pointers hurrying on a monitor. From the other side I remembered how once I did a sort of odometer, for the path passed by a mouse. And suddenly, a brilliant idea came into my head.
