Steve Simpson has been creating award winning illustration for major ad & design companies for the last 20 years. His characters have appeared on everything from postage stamps to billboards, snack packaging to chilli bottles. In recent years he’s been illustrating children’s books both at home and in the US. Most recently Steve picked up a bell at The Institute of Creative Advertising & Design (ICAD) awards for his Inferno Chilli label design. Steve also won gold in the Association of Illustrators (UK) Images 32 for his Pure Pie branding and has regularly had work accepted for The Society of Illustrators (NY), 3×3 Mag awards, Applied Arts, Communication Arts & American Illustration.

R. R. Tolkien wrote as a preface to the main adventure. It was written in 1937 as a children’s fantasy novel and is considered as the best juvenile fiction. The main characters are presented with Bilbo Baggins, Smaug, Thorin Oakenshield and of course Gandalf. Inspired by the new coming movie The Hobbit we have decided to look through the pictures that great fans of this writer and series dedicated to their most preferred characters. Film noir is French expression for “black film”. It is a film term which characterizes a certain cinematic period that took place from the early 1940s and lasted something about to the late 1950s. This period in movie industry reflects the pessimism and cynical attitudes of American society during the WWII and early years of the Cold War. As a rule it was a period of stylish Hollywood crime dramas, which contained a criminal plot, gloomy atmosphere of cynical fatalism and pessimism, elimination of the edge between a hero and antihero, relative realism of action and dark illumination of the scene, usually night. Later on, film noir was incarnated in the films of various well-known directors and a fashion for noir films periodically came back to life. Inspired by the mysterious atmosphere of noir films, we’ve decided to share with you a collection of dark digital artworks!
