HTML5 video players

This article is going to be about HTML5 video players. We’ll focus on ten decisions for cross-platform video displaying on the sites. The video element is a long-expected and certainly one of the most useful feature in HTML5.

We can easily embed videos into web pages without any plugins, using the video element (which is now included in latest versions of Firefox, Safari & Chrome & Opera). The main drawback is that not all of the browsers support the same codecs (IE doesn’t support any). In this case javascript comes to help. It sits on top of the video tag providing better video controls and a fallback to flash for older browsers.

Here is a collection of useful HTML5 video players which allow you to easily embed flash video into web pages when you need it. Almost all of them are free and can be used for the commercial working.
